William S. Elias II

William Elias II serves as the Executive Director, Chief Legal Officer, and Secretary at Sandia National Laboratories since May 2017, providing legal advice and oversight on corporate governance and various legal functions, including litigation and intellectual property. Previously, Elias held the position of General Counsel at Argonne National Laboratory, managing all legal affairs and advising on government contracting, in addition to overseeing technology transfer initiatives. Prior to that role, Elias was General Counsel and Legal Director at The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, where oversight of legal matters and corporate governance was a primary responsibility. Experience also includes teaching law at Boston University, practicing law at various prestigious firms, and clerking for the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Elias holds a J.D. from Boston University School of Law and a B.S. in Biology from Tufts University.
