Shafiq Bailey

Shafiq Bailey has had a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Shafiq started their career at Southern Life in 1993 as an Analyst Programmer. In 1998, they joined Magmatec where they served as a Project Manager and Mr. Throughout their time at Magmatec, Shafiq held various responsibilities until 2007. Since then, they have been with Sanlam, starting as an Application Manager - SPF IT Dev and eventually becoming the Application Portfolio Head: SPF IT Development in November 2014.

Shafiq Bailey completed an Advanced Leadership Certificate in Design Thinking from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town in 2018. Prior to that, they attained a BComm (Hons) degree in Information Systems from the University of Cape Town, which they pursued from 2004 to 2005. In addition to their academic qualifications, they obtained the certification of Certified SAFe® 5 DevOps Practitioner from Scaled Agile, Inc. in August 2020.
