Yanet Cortez

Yanet Cortez has a diverse background in educational and behavioral support roles. Currently serving as a Navigator at South Central Los Angeles Regional Center since April 2023, Yanet previously worked as an Academic Coordinator at Adolescent Growth, where a focus on providing academic and career guidance led to a significant improvement in students' grades. Earlier experience includes a Behavioral Therapist Intern position at CALIFORNIA BEHAVIORAL CARE, LLC, where assessments and behavioral plans were implemented, and communication with parents and staff was emphasized. Yanet also gained experience as an Assistant Preschool Teacher at Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and as a Peer Mentor at Wazo Connect, offering mental health support to college students and organizing awareness events. Additional roles included Private Tutor and Camp Counselor at UCLA. Yanet holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Education from UCLA.
