In 2008, they started working at IBM as a Vice President, where they served in multiple positions such as leading the marketing for IBM WebSphere and scaling the mobile solutions business. Riegel also led programs, marketing, business development, and operations for IBM's alliances with startup companies, partners, and universities globally. Mike created the Global Entrepreneur Program to support startups and venture capital firms. In 2013, they joined Cisco as a Vice President, where they played a crucial role in the company's transformation from a product business model to solutions, software, and services model. Mike spearheaded efforts related to Internet of Everything, Vertical Industries, Analytics, Enterprise App Integration, and Cloud/SaaS. Riegel developed the Cisco Intercloud strategy and achieved significant industry recognition in the cloud space. After their tenure at Cisco, Riegel worked as the SVP of Strategic Transformation at Premier Inc., where they contributed to strategic initiatives. Mike also held positions on the boards of several organizations, including Scout APM, Triangle Tweener Fund, Saint Anselm College, American Red Cross - Triangle Area Chapter, Software & Information Industry Association, and IBM. Mike Riegel obtained their MBA in General Management from the University of Notre Dame - Mendoza College of Business from 1996 to 1998. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate education at Saint Anselm College from 1988 to 1992, earning a BA in Economics and Politics.
