Xuchen Yao

Xuchen Yao has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Xuchen is currently the Cofounder/CEO of SEASALT.AI, where they are responsible for revolutionizing contact center operations in a cloud-native and remote-first environment. Xuchen is also the Cofounder/CEO of Vobil.com, an independent insurance broker utilizing Seasalt.ai's technology.

Prior to their current ventures, Xuchen worked at Baidu USA as a Principal Architect, overseeing DuerOS and Baidu Cloud's AI2B business. Xuchen also founded and served as the CEO of KITT.AI, a company that was later acquired by Baidu.

Xuchen's experience in the tech industry also includes a research internship at Google, where they worked in the field of artificial intelligence. Xuchen also gained experience as a summer intern at Vulcan, Inc., the Information Science Institute at the University of Southern California, and the USC Institute for Creative Technologies. Additionally, Xuchen served as a visiting research student at City University of Hong Kong and was a student at Saarland University.

Xuchen Yao completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Acoustics at Nanjing University from 2002 to 2006. Xuchen then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Linguistics at the University of Groningen from 2008 to 2009. Following that, they attended Universität des Saarlandes from 2009 to 2010, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Language Science and Technology. Finally, Xuchen Yao pursued their PhD in Computer Science at The Johns Hopkins University from 2010 to 2014.
