Michael Gilbert has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Michael is the founder and director of the board at Semios since September 2010. Prior to that, they worked as a consultant at Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls Independent Consulting from March 2010 to March 2011. Michael also has experience as a scientist in biologics and pharmaceutical analysis at Cardiome from November 2006 to February 2010. Earlier in their career, they were the manager of pharmaceutical development at Active Pass Pharmaceuticals from June 2005 to June 2006. Michael Gilbert started their career as a senior postdoctoral fellow research team leader at Mulzer Laboratoires, University of Vienna from September 2002 to May 2004.
Michael Gilbert earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry-Nutrition from the University of Ottawa, where they studied from 1992 to 1995. Michael then pursued higher education at the University of British Columbia, where they obtained their PhD in Medicinal Organic Chemistry from 1996 to 2002. Later, in 2004 to 2006, they attended Thompson Rivers University and completed a Certificate in Business Administration with a focus on Operations Management. Prior to their university studies, they attended St. Matthew's from 1988 to 1992.
