Process Engineer, Electro-optics at Seurat Technologies

Thomas Phillips has a diverse work experience that includes roles in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, and leadership positions in student organizations. Thomas is currently working as a Manufacturing Engineer at Seurat Technologies since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Mechanical Engineer II at Raytheon Technologies from 2019 to 2022. Thomas also had a short-term TechStudent role at Raytheon in 2019. Thomas has also been involved in Sigma Phi Epsilon (Official) as Chapter President, Vice President of Finance, and Recruitment and Scholarship Chair from 2015 to 2019. Thomas was also Treasurer and Co-Founder of the UMass Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Team - AIAA Design/Build/Fly from 2018 to 2019. Before that, they had two co-op roles at Methods Machine Tools, Inc. where they worked as an Automation Engineering & Design Co-op and a Production Engineering Co-op, gaining experience in project development, 3D modeling, and the installation of manufacturing technologies.

Thomas Phillips has a strong educational background in engineering and project management. Thomas attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2015 to 2019, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Thomas then pursued further education at the same institution, completing a Graduate Certificate in Engineering Project Management and Leadership from 2021 to 2022. Currently, they are enrolled in the University of Massachusetts Amherst's Master of Science program in Engineering Management, which they are expected to complete in 2024.

In addition to their formal education, Thomas has obtained several certifications. Thomas has completed the HandlingTool Operations & Programming course offered by FANUC America Corporation. Thomas also successfully completed the Onshape Bootcamp Training Course, provided by Onshape, a PTC Technology. Thomas possesses the Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist Qualification from Raytheon Technologies.
