Anne Cushman

Anne Cushman is an accomplished director, author, and teacher with extensive experience in mindfulness and yoga. Currently serving as the Director of Mentoring for the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program at Sounds True since 2016, Anne develops curriculum and mentors trainees globally. As an author, Anne published "The Mama Sutra" through Shambhala Publications and "Enlightenment for Idiots: A Novel" with Random House, both receiving critical acclaim. With a significant tenure as a Dharma Teacher at Spirit Rock Meditation Center since 2000, Anne has led numerous retreats and trainings. Previous roles include Mindfulness Teacher at DaVita Healthcare Partners, West Coast Editor for Tricycle: The Buddhist Review, and Senior Editor at Yoga Journal, where Anne played a pivotal role in the magazine's growth during the yoga boom. Anne holds a Bachelor's degree in Comparative Religion from Princeton University and completed the Community Dharma Leader Program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center.
