Stephen C. McGue is an entrepreneurial executive with over thirty years of general management experience and P&L responsibility in multi-unit retailing and light manufacturing environments.
In 1994 Steve founded Shamrock Company. Shamrock is a multi-unit restaurant company, which owns and operates 23 Quick Service Restaurants. Steve is actively developing new restaurants, and is pursuing takeovers of existing units.
Prior to entering the restaurant business, Steve was Vice President of Payless Shoe Source and developed and launched a new retail concept, PAYLESS KIDS, which grew from 1 store to 100 stores in 12 months, generating $25 million incremental sales. He was also selected to lead the company’s first international venture as Managing Director in Mexico City. With 10 years of experience at Hartmarx Corporation of Chicago, Illinois, Steve was promoted to President, CEO of Jaymar Ruby Group, this autonomous apparel manufacturer with five manufacturing plants, 40 retail stores and annual sales in excess of $170 million. He had total P&L responsibility including all financial, marketing, operations, MIS and strategic planning functions. Steve successfully combined a $60 million acquisition improving the profitability of the combined entity. He was an industry pioneer in quick response manufacturing and EDI linkages with key customers, reducing order/fill time from two months to one week by formulating and implementing nationally acclaimed strategy for reviving mature brand, the company saw its first sales increase in four years.
Steve received his M.B.A. from Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania and his B.S. from the U.S. Military Academy of West Point. Steve served with Special Forces in Vietnam.
Steve has served on the boards of United Way; Pillars Community Service; Franchise Assoc. of Taco Bell; Tricon Capital and the USO of Illinois.
