Zheting Bi

Zheting Bi has extensive work experience in the field of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. They began their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Reading, where they focused on the recovery of astaxanthin using colloidal gas aphrons and the industrial production design of an antibody via bacteria fermentation technique.

They then went on to work as an Intern at the Tianjin Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau Industrial Products Safety Center, where they conducted various tests and analyses on color paint, including determining heavy metal levels and examining antibacterial properties.

Next, Zheting served as a Research Assistant at the University of Surrey, where they conducted research in the field of biotechnology.

They further expanded their research experience as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Idaho, where they focused on various research projects and also assisted in teaching.

Zheting then pursued Postdoctoral research positions at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale and the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. In these roles, they conducted mechanistic investigations on metabolic changes induced by microbial and pathophysiological challenges.

After their postdoctoral positions, Zheting joined Zoetis Inc., where they worked as a Senior Scientist in Upstream Process Development for veterinary medicine. They played a crucial role in developing fermentation and bioreactor protocols for the manufacture of biological veterinary products.

They then joined Neoleukin Therapeutics as a Senior Scientist and Lead of Upstream Process Development. In this role, they created and delivered the vision and strategy for the development of new or existing molecular entities. They also served as a Subject Matter Expert for the development of robust and scalable upstream processes and ensured alignment of program strategy with functional area capabilities.

Currently, Zheting is a Senior Scientist at Shape Therapeutics Inc., where they utilize their expertise in molecular development to contribute to the company's goals.

Zheting Bi has a diverse education history in the field of engineering and biotechnology. They obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biotechnology from the University of Reading, where they studied from 2007 to 2009. Following that, from 2009 to 2010, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at the University of Surrey.

Continuing their academic journey, Zheting Bi attended the University of Idaho from 2010 to 2012, where they earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering. They further expanded their knowledge in the field by pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biological/Biosystems Engineering at the same university, completing their studies in 2015.
