Barbara Cavanagh

Barbara Cavanagh currently serves as an Exploratory Spanish Teacher and Special Education Paraeducator at Sheridan County School District 1 since February 2021. Prior to this role, Barbara held positions as a Substitute Teacher at Sheridan School Districts #1 and #2 and as a Physical Education Teacher at Griffin Technology Academies from August 2014 to July 2020. Barbara's teaching career began at Edenton Chowan Schools, where a position as a Spanish Teacher spanned from August 2002 to June 2010, earning recognition as Teacher of the Year for both Edenton Chowan Schools and John A. Holmes High School in the 2008-2009 academic year. Additional teaching experience includes a tenure as a Spanish Teacher at Vallejo City Unified School District from January 1997 to June 2001, recognized as Teacher of the Year at Benjamin Franklin Middle School for the 1999-2000 year. Barbara also has managerial experience from Paragon Restaurant Group between 1994 and 1996. Barbara Cavanagh holds a degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from Arizona State University.
