Mirko Appel has extensive work experience in various positions within Siemens and other organizations. Mirko started their career as a Student Intern at Siemens Corporate Research in 1997. Mirko then worked as a Doctoral Student at Siemens Power Generation and Framatome Advanced Nuclear Power from 1998 to 2002. Following this, they served as a Research Assistant at Universität Bonn for a brief period in 2002. Mirko then joined Siemens AG, Corporate Technology as a Senior Consultant Service Management and worked there from 2002 to 2011. In 2011, they transitioned to Siemens AG, Healthcare Sector, where they worked as a Senior Project Manager until 2013. In 2014, they joined Siemens Healthineers as the Head of Analytical Services and later took on the role of Principal Key Expert Business Analytics in June 2017.
Mirko Appel attended the Hamburg University of Technology from 1991 to 1997, where they obtained a Diplom-Ingenieur degree in Elektrotechnik und Elektronik. Mirko then pursued further education at The University of Bonn from 1998 to 2004, earning a Dr.-Ing. degree in Geodäsie.
