Jaïr Van Der Lijn

Programme Director (non-resident) at SIPRI

Jaïr van der Lijn is an accomplished scholar and practitioner in the field of peace operations and conflict management, currently serving as the Director of the Peace Operations and Conflict Management Programme and Senior Researcher at SIPRI since February 2013. In addition to this role, Jaïr has been an Associate Fellow and Assistant Professor at Radboud University Nijmegen since 2005, and has contributed as the Associate Editor for the Journal of International Peacekeeping since June 2008. Previous positions include Senior Research Fellow and Senior Research Associate at The Clingendael Institute from 2007 to April 2018, and Junior Researcher/Lecturer at Radboud University Nijmegen from 2000 to 2004. Jaïr van der Lijn holds a PhD in Peacekeeping Operations from Radboud University, obtained in 2006, and a Master of Arts in the History of International Relations from Utrecht University, completed in 1998.
