Hywel Carver

Hywel Carver has a diverse and extensive work experience. Hywel started their career in 2009 as an MRes/PhD student at University College London, where they worked on computational simulation of neurovascular haemodynamics. After completing their PhD, they founded a company called Matopy in 2011, aimed at improving blind people's experience of the Internet. However, the company was unable to commercialize its product.

In 2012, Hywel became a Consulting Startup CTO at London Startup Tech, where they provided consultancy services to early-stage startups in London, helping them develop their ideas into products with paying customers. In 2013, they founded BridgeU with a co-founder and served as the CTO. Under their leadership, the company grew to over 30 employees and 14 members of the engineering team across two offices in London and Hong Kong. Most recently, in 2018, they became the CEO of Skiller Whale, where they provide deep coaching for tech teams.
