Laurence Payne

Laurence Payne has extensive experience in the field of electrical and electronics engineering, with a career spanning over four decades. Since January 1993, Laurence has been a Senior Electrical/Electronics Production Engineer at Sonardyne International Ltd, specializing in pre-production testing, process environment, and the development of engineering and production procedures. Previous roles include Principal Test Engineer and Senior Test Engineer, focusing on testing electronics and acoustic systems, fault finding, and calibration. Prior to Sonardyne, Laurence worked for Thorn EMI Electronics from January 1984 to January 1993, conducting tests on microprocessor boards and sonar systems. Laurence began a career in electronics with an apprenticeship at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, which included mechanical and formal electronics training alongside practical experience in avionics and air traffic maintenance.
