Alan Murray has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Alan started their career as an Audit Manager at Ernst & Young, where they worked from August 1996 to June 2002.

In 2002, Alan joined Wood Mackenzie, initially as a Senior Petroleum Economist and later progressed to become the Vice President of Corporate Development. During their time at Wood Mackenzie, they worked under different private equity owners and then with Verisk Analytics. Alan's responsibilities included product management, development, and creation, as well as strategic planning, joint ventures, and M&A activities. Alan also played a key role in post-acquisition integration and building new teams. Alan's tenure at Wood Mackenzie lasted from July 2002 to July 2018.

Following their time at Wood Mackenzie, Alan became the Managing Director of Petroleum Edge Ltd, a joint venture between Wood Mackenzie and Robertson, a CGG brand. Alan led the development of EV2, a product that provided insights on the dollar value of future exploration based on data from Wood Mackenzie and Robertson. Alan's role at Petroleum Edge lasted from March 2016 to January 2018.

In 2018, Alan co-founded Vistalworks, a new Consumer Protection Brand. Alan served as a Director and played a crucial role in its growth and expansion in Scotland and Eastern Europe. This venture grew out of Get Market Fit, which was a hub for innovation at Vistalworks. Alan's involvement with Vistalworks started in August 2018 and is ongoing.

In 2019, Alan joined Speech Graphics as the Chief Finance Officer. Responsible for various areas as a member of the Executive team, Alan focused on raising investment, strategic planning, business pipeline, CRM, contracts, regulations, and reporting. Alan continues to hold this position.

Alan also briefly served as a Strategic Advisor for Ocyan, a platform that enables businesses to develop and scale cloud technologies seamlessly. Their role involved providing support on operational and business matters from June 2019 to June 2020.

Alan Murray attended the University of Glasgow from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics.
