Alicia John-Baptiste has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Alicia is currently the President & CEO of SPUR, where they provide strategic vision and leadership. Prior to this, they served as the Interim CEO of SPUR. Alicia was also the Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer at SPUR, where they played a crucial role in determining organizational priorities and scaling systems.
Before joining SPUR, Alicia worked at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) as the Chief of Staff. Alicia was responsible for managing a department of 6,000 employees with a $1 billion budget. Alicia led strategic planning initiatives and played a vital role in implementing transportation policy initiatives.
Alicia also worked at the City and County of San Francisco's Planning Department, where they served as the Chief of Staff and Chief Administrative Officer. In these roles, they led various initiatives to transform the department's performance and built strategic partnerships with external leaders.
Alicia's earlier career included roles at the SFMTA as the Acting Chief Financial Officer, Budget Manager, and Assistant Director of Communications.
Alicia John-Baptiste holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Spanish from Duke University. Alicia also has a Master's degree in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School.
