Jan Govaerts

Jan Govaerts has extensive experience in public administration and emergency management. Since October 2007, Jan has served as Beleidsadviseur Handhaving and Noodplanningcoördinator at Stad Turnhout, responsible for managing emergency planning policies, developing intervention plans, and ensuring multidisciplinary collaboration during crises. Jan has also held roles in communications, providing strategic advice and overseeing communication policies. Prior to this, Jan worked as a Jeugdconsulent at Gemeente Boechout, focusing on youth policy implementation, and as an Educatief medewerker at KWB Verbond Antwerpen, where responsibilities included local department support and organization of educational events. Jan's academic background includes a degree from Sociale Hogeschool KVMW - Gent and current studies in Postgraduate Disaster Management at the University of Antwerp.
