Lisa Lay Ortega has extensive work experience in the restaurant industry. Lisa started their career at Rosie's BBQ Grillery in 1989 as a General Manager and worked there until 2004. In 2004, they joined Stonefire Grill as an Area Manager and was promoted to People & Culture Manager in 2008. Lisa then served as the Director of People & Culture from 2017 to 2023, and is currently the Senior Director of People & Culture.
Lisa Lay Ortega completed their education in the field of International Relations. Lisa obtained their Bachelor's Degree in International Relations and German from the University of Redlands in 1987. Lisa then pursued a Master's Degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California, which they completed in 1989. In 1986, Lisa also participated in a Study Abroad Program at The University of Freiburg.
In addition to their academic qualifications, Lisa Lay Ortega has obtained several certifications. In 2005, they became a ServSafe Food Safety Manager (Instructor and Proctor). In 2015, they achieved the SHRM-SCP certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the SPHR - Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI.
