Yara Hamway

Yara Hamway is a seasoned journalist and editor with a focus on the Middle East, currently serving as an Assistant Editor and Senior Journalist at Storyful since October 2020. Previously, Yara played a pivotal role in leading Middle East coverage and verifying user-generated content as a Journalist at Storyful from October 2018 to June 2019, and was involved in significant events such as the defeat of the Islamic State and the Sudanese Revolution. Experience also includes a role as a Production Assistant and Research Intern at Ark Media, where Yara assisted in the acquisition and logging of archival materials, and a position at the New York University libraries, developing skills in cataloguing Arabic texts. Yara's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies from New York University, complemented by an International Baccalaureate and GCSE from The British International School, Cairo.
