We are looking for a highly motivated HR & Safety Assistant to support our HR and safety operations on-site. This is an entry-level, hands-on role for someone who is detail-oriented and eager to learn. The HR & Safety Assistant will assist with employee onboarding, training, safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with HR and safety regulations. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in both human resources and workplace safety.

Your Role:

New Hire Onboarding & Training Support:

• Administer and track the new hire onboarding process, ensuring all required documentation and forms are completed.
• Coordinate and conduct new hire training sessions, including safety orientation and compliance training.
• Ensure all new hires complete necessary onboarding and safety courses in a timely manner.

Ongoing Training Administration & Tracking:

• Track and schedule ongoing employee training to ensure compliance with company requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date records of ongoing employee training and certifications.
• Assist with organizing and coordinating additional training as needed.

Safety & Compliance Inspections:

• Ensure all HR, legal, and safety posters are visible and up to date in accordance with regulations.
• Conduct regular checks of first aid kits, AEDs, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, and other safety equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Report any issues or deficiencies and follow up to ensure corrective actions are taken.

Worker’s Compensation Support:

• Assist with documentation and tracking for worker’s compensation claims.
• Help with the filing and follow-up of any injury-related paperwork as directed.

General HR & Safety Assistance:

• Provide administrative support to the HR and safety teams by tracking open items and following up on pending tasks.
• Assist employees with HR-related questions or safety concerns and direct them to the appropriate resources.
• Assist the HR/Environmental Manager with routine HR and safety reporting and tasks.

What We’re Looking For:

• A strong desire to learn and develop skills in HR and workplace safety.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Basic knowledge of safety procedures or HR processes is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
