Alice Friedman has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in transportation planning and policy. Alice is currently working as a Product Manager at StreetLight Data, focusing on machine-learning based data products with a Software as a Service overlay. Prior to this, they worked at Spin as a Senior Manager in Safety Policy. Alice also has a significant background in the public sector, having worked at the New York City Department of Transportation in roles such as Deputy Director of Planning & Policy, Bicycle Unit, Strategic Initiatives Manager, Bicycle and Greenway Program, and Project Manager, Greenways Unit. Alice has experience in directing staff, developing programs and policies, leading public engagement strategies, and promoting safe cycling behavior. Alice's earlier work experience includes being a Science Teacher through the NYC Teaching Fellows program, a Volunteer GIS Analyst at Transportation Alternatives, and holding planning roles at the Town of Easton and City of Baltimore.
Alice Friedman has a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Studies & Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they obtained from 2001 to 2005. Alice then pursued a Master's degree in Housing, Community, & Economic Development at the same institution from 2004 to 2006. Currently, Alice is enrolled at the CUNY School of Professional Studies, where they are pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science, starting from 2018 and expected to graduate in 2023.
