Deborah Ramsey, Ph.D.

Deborah Ramsey, Ph.D. has had an extensive and varied work experience. Deborah currently holds the position of Director, Scientific Development at SynVivo, Inc. since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Scientist at Integra LifeSciences from December 2021 to December 2022, where they were responsible for project management of early stage new product development in the medical device industry. Deborah has also worked at CFD Research Corporation, where they held multiple roles including Principal Scientist, Group Lead, and Senior Research Scientist from January 2016 to December 2021. Their responsibilities at CFD Research Corporation included leading cell biology and PI on government contracts/grants, developing experimentally validated tissue interfaces on-a-chip, and leading the Cell, Molecular and Tissue Engineering team. Before that, they served as a Science Editor (Remote) at Clarity Manuscript Consultants, LLC from May 2014 to October 2017. Deborah also worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Conversant Biologics, Inc. from October 2014 to October 2016, focusing on biobanking and research activities involving cell isolations. Prior to that, they served as a Research Associate at the University of New South Wales from January 2011 to March 2014, and as a Research Technologist Senior at the University of Louisville from June 2008 to January 2011. Deborah also held the position of Teaching Postdoctoral Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis from November 2005 to May 2008 and worked as a Graduate Student and Research Associate at Wake Forest University School of Medicine from August 1999 to October 2005. Overall, Dr. Deborah Ramsey has a strong background in scientific research, project management, and leadership roles in various organizations.

Deborah Ramsey, Ph.D. pursued their higher education in a chronological manner. Deborah began their academic journey at The University of Alabama in Huntsville from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences. Deborah then continued their studies at Wake Forest University Graduate School from 1999 to 2005, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Microbiology and Immunology.

In addition to their formal education, Deborah Ramsey also holds additional certifications. Deborah has obtained a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certification from the Project Management Institute in January 2023.
