Ahmed Shalaby has a diverse work experience that spans various roles in real estate development and academia. Ahmed is the Co-Founder, President, and CEO of Tatweer Misr, a prominent Egyptian Real Estate Development Shareholding company. Additionally, they have held leadership positions such as Chairman of the Egyptian Real Estate Council and Co-Chair of the Real Estate Committee at AmCham Egypt. Furthermore, Ahmed Shalaby has served as a Professor of Architecture and Urban Development at Cairo University, where they teach and supervises graduate and Ph.D. students. Ahmed is also actively involved in various organizations, including being a member of the African Business Leaders Coalition and a Board Member of the EGY-UAE Business Council and the Egyptian Real Estate Export Council. In the past, they have served as Vice President and Board Member of the International Council for Small Business. Ahmed Shalaby has also worked as a Technical Advisor to the Chairman of El Mostakbal Urban Development and as a Technical Advisor to the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities for the Government of Egypt.

Ahmed Shalaby holds a Ph.D. in City and Regional Planning from Cornell University, which they pursued from 2001 to 2003 under joint supervision with Cairo University. Prior to that, they earned another Ph.D. in City and Regional Planning from Cairo University, also under joint supervision with Cornell University, from 1998 to 2001. Ahmed completed their Master's degree in Architecture and Urban Design at Cairo University from 1993 to 1998. Ahmed Shalaby began their education journey by obtaining their Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Cairo University from 1988 to 1993.
