Shanice Casimiro has a diverse work experience. Shanice began their career in 2011 as a Blogger and Writer for South Side Weekly. From 2014 to 2016, they held various roles, including Office Assistant at The University of Chicago Biological Sciences, Projectionist at Chicago International Movies and Music Festival (CIMMfest) and Processing Archivist at Chicago Film Archives. In 2018, they served as a Personal Assistant for a Vocal Coach. From 2015 to 2020, they held a variety of roles, including Festival Registrar and Programming Assistant at Facets Multi-Media, Projectionist at Film Studies Center at The University of Chicago, and Shipping Chair (Interim position) at Doc Films. Most recently, in 2020, they worked as an Editorial Assistant at Seton Hall Magazine, where they collaborated with the editor at all stages of the publishing process, helped with general administrative tasks, proofread and fact checked articles and layouts, and authored four student profiles. Shanice is currently employed as an Office Administrator and Client Care at Techmenity.
Shanice Casimiro graduated from Bayonne High School in 2011 with a high school diploma. Shanice then attended the University of Chicago, graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature. In 2013, they also attended Jami'at Al-Yarmouk to study Advanced Modern Standard Arabic. In 2019, they began attending Seton Hall University and is expected to graduate in 2021 with a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature.
