Richard Wendell has a long and varied work experience. Richard began their career in 1997 as an IT Strategy Consultant for GeoPartners. Richard then moved on to become Vice President of Business Development for SL New Media in 1999. In 2001, they became Vice President of Marketing Analytics for Red Square Systems. From 2005 to 2008, they were the Director of Strategic Analytics for Corporate Executive Board. Richard then joined American Express as Vice President of Strategic Analytics and Enterprise Growth from 2008 to 2013. In 2013, they became Vice President and Global Head of Data Science and Strategic Analytics for TE Connectivity. In 2015, they founded and became the Chief Executive Officer of tellic, a data science technology company. Additionally, they were a Founding Board Member of the MIT Chief Data Officer Society and a Member of the Forbes Technology Council in 2017.
Richard Wendell has a varied educational background. Richard attended Fox Chapel, followed by a semester at sea. Richard then went on to earn a BA in Philosophy and Mathematics from Brandeis University, Summa Cum Laude with Honors in 1996. Richard later earned an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business, with a Concentration in Decision Technologies and Advanced Analytics, in 2005.
