Andra Yeghoian has a diverse work experience in the field of education and sustainability. Andra currently serves as the Chief Innovation Officer at Ten Strands, where they focus on driving innovation in environmental literacy initiatives. Andra is also the Co-Chair for the California Environmental Literacy Initiative (CAELI), leading efforts to promote environmental literacy in the education system.
Prior to their current roles, Andra worked as an Adjunct Instructor at the Teachers College of San Joaquin, where they provided instruction in education. Andra also worked as a Consultant for Change Agents for a Sustainable and Climate Resilient Transition, supporting organizations in integrating sustainability principles and practices.
Andra has held leadership positions in environmental literacy and sustainability at the San Mateo County Office of Education, where they coordinated initiatives to integrate environmental sustainability and climate-resilient practices in schools. Andra also served as the Director of Sustainability at Bishop O'Dowd High School, where they led a strategic sustainability initiative across campus, curriculum, community engagement, and institutional culture.
Furthermore, Andra has experience in teaching and curriculum development. Andra worked as a Teacher at Pleasanton Middle School and Berkeley High School, where they implemented student-centered pedagogies and innovative teaching methods. Early in their career, Andra taught secondary humanities at The American School of The Hague, providing instruction in social studies and English literature.
Throughout their career, Andra has demonstrated a passion for integrating sustainability into education, promoting environmental literacy, and supporting organizations in adopting sustainable practices.
Andra Yeghoian earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in International Relations from the University of California, Davis, between 2000 and 2004. Following this, they completed a Teaching Credential in Single Subject Social Studies at the same university from 2005 to 2006. In 2010, they attended Pinchot University, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a focus on Sustainable Business in 2012.
