Monica Leong

Monica Leong is an experienced educational professional specializing in adult education and health literacy, currently serving as an adult education online facilitator at The Alex Community Health Centre and Kindred Connections Society since January and December 2023, respectively. With a significant background in managing digital initiatives, Monica has held the position of Project Manager for the Digital Divide Project at Calgary Learns since April 2021. As the owner of Leong Language and Literacy Consulting since January 2017, Monica provides consulting services in second language and literacy education. Additional roles include serving as a Subject Matter Expert in Health Literacy for Jobs for the Future and moderating an online Community of Practice from July 2020 to September 2022. Monica has also contributed to the Calgary Immigrant Women's Association as a Project Consultant and has an instructional background as a lead teacher in the Bridge Program at Bow Valley College from 2001 to 2007. Academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Calgary and both a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Lethbridge.
