Andre Levan

Analytical Operations Lead at The EVERY Company

Andre Levan has worked in various research roles since 2015. In 2021, they began working at EVERY™ as a Senior Research Associate and Research Associate II - Automation and Analytics. From 2018-2021, they worked at Intrexon Corporation as a Research Associate II, where they refined and optimized enzyme-coupled assays for kinetic analysis, assisted in overseeing and generating a plasmid library for tagged-protein purification POC project in E. coli, developed plate-based biomass build process to generate samples for medium-scale purification, and transitioned purification scheme for protein of interest from a manual process to an automated process. In 2017, they worked at Boston University as a Research Assistant, where they performed an RNAi screen of kinase activity during ovary development, antibody stained and examined tissue sections of ovaries through immunofluorescent microscopy, followed up and confirmed hits from screen through qPCR, and created plasmid construct using Gateway cloning and plasmid purification to use for injection for transgenic tool development. Also in 2017, they worked at Intrexon Corporation as an Intern (Enzymology and Assay Development). In 2015, they worked at Boston University School of Medicine as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, where they identified cancer targeting antibodies within human plasma samples using ELISA, gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, flow cytometry and hybridoma cell culture, isolated monoclonal antibodies from cell lysate using column affinity chromatography, designed experiments, interpreted results, and determined next directions for individual projects as well as overall lab research, and maintained day-to-day functioning of the lab including restocking and cleaning lab benches and filling liquid nitrogen dewars.

Andre Levan received their Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Boston University in 2018, having started their studies there in 2013. Andre then went on to receive their Master's Degree in Biotechnology from Boston University in 2018.
