Joanna Sun

Analog/Mixed-Signal Design/layout/CAD at The Six Semiconductor

Joanna Sun has a diverse range of experience in analog/mixed-signal design, layout, CAD, and methodology. Joanna has worked at The Six Semiconductor as an Analog/Mixed-Signal Design/Layout/CAD professional since 2021. Prior to that, they were employed by Huawei Technologies from 2017 to 2021, where they held multiple roles including CAD/Methodology/Technology/Physical Design and Custom Layout Co-lead.

Before joining Huawei Technologies, Joanna worked at Rambus/Semtech as a SMTS, Physical Design from 2016 to 2017, and at AMD as a Sr. Analog Designer from 2010 to 2016. At AMD, they were involved in various projects related to macro ownership, USB interface design, chip-level contributions, and methodology improvement.

Joanna also has research experience as a Research Assistant at the University of Western Ontario, where they specialized in analog IC design and testing using CMOS 90nm STM technology. Additionally, they served as a Teaching Assistant during their time at the university.

Prior to their work in Canada, Joanna worked as a Research Assistant at the National Engineering Research Center for ASIC in Nanjing, China.

Joanna Sun has a diverse education history. Joanna first attended Hohai University from 2002 to 2006, where they obtained their Bachelor of Applied Science degree. Following that, they pursued further studies in microelectronics and analog IC design at Western University from 2007 to 2009, earning their M.E.Sc degree. However, they did not complete their M.E.Sc degree in Digital ASIC design and testing and GPS baseband processor at Southeast University from 2006 to 2007.

In 2014, Joanna attended Seneca College, where they obtained a Seneca College Certificate in Interior Decoration. Additionally, they obtained a Certificate in Project Management from the University of Toronto, School of Continuing Studies in March 2014.
