Derek Lawson

Derek Lawson is an experienced Technology Design Consultant serving as a Senior Associate at Thorburn Associates since June 2023. Previously, Derek held the position of Senior ICT Designer at Syska Hennessy Group from August 2022 to June 2023, and prior to that, worked as a Technology Designer and CAD Designer at Thorburn Associates from October 2017 to August 2022. Derek's career began with the North Carolina National Guard as a Heavy Equipment Operator from May 2012 to May 2018. Additionally, Derek contributed to Scaling Up Digital Design Studies as a Digital Production Assistant, focusing on visual and UX design while utilizing Adobe Illustrator from October 2016 to December 2017. Derek holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Communications from North Carolina State University, completed in 2017.
