Nick Cartwright

Nick Cartwright has an extensive work experience in computer software development and technical roles. Nick is currently employed at Trading Apps Ltd since 2016. Prior to this, they worked at various companies in different roles.

From 2007 to 2016, Nick worked at SunGard (now part of FIS). Nick started as a Senior Developer, responsible for developing messaging components and settlement interfaces using Java, JNI, C++, and C#. Nick then became a Development Lead, leading a team of developers in the UK and US, managing development planning, estimation, coordination, and reporting. In their last role at SunGard, they served as a Technical Design Manager, specializing in the Apex interfacing solution set and providing solutions designs and implementations for investment banks.

Before joining SunGard, Nick worked at Optiver Asia Pacific from 2005 to 2007 as a Front Office Developer, where they focused on developing exchange connectivity software and enhancing order execution functionality.

From 1999 to 2004, Nick worked at LCH.Clearnet in various roles. Nick started as a Senior Developer, then became a Development Team Lead, overseeing a team of developers and handling defect and change management. Nick also worked as an Architect, responsible for system enhancements. Nick utilized technologies such as C/C++, VMS, Ingres, and TIBCO Rendezvous during their tenure at LCH.Clearnet.

Between 1997 and 1999, Nick worked at Logica as a Software Developer, where they provided software support and maintenance for a stochastic infantry close combat simulation model written in Microsoft Visual C++, primarily for military experts.

Nick Cartwright attended the University of Glasgow from 1992 to 1996, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Nick then furthered their education at the University of Dundee from 1996 to 1997, achieving a Master's degree with Distinction in Applied Information Technology.
