Melissa McRoy Shearer

Melissa McRoy Shearer is the Mental Health Division Director at Travis County's Public Defender's Office. Prior to this role, Melissa has extensive experience in various legal positions, including serving as an Attorney and Administrative Attorney at the State Bar of Texas. Melissa's legal journey began with a variety of internships and positions, culminating in earning their Doctor of Law degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. Melissa also holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
