Fred Botero has a diverse work experience in the field of purchasing and logistics. Fred started their career as an Industrial Engineer and Instructor at Michelin in 1985 and continued to work there until 1991. Fred then joined Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Co. as a Materials Manager, overseeing the purchasing, materials planning, and warehouse functions. After that, they worked at Michelin as a Purchasing Director from 1994 to 1998. Following this, they joined Visteon as an Associate Director of Purchasing, responsible for managing two groups of buyers and supporting various product lines. Fred then moved on to Blue Bird Corporation, where they served as a VP of Purchasing and later as a Launch Manager. In 2013, they joined Proterra Inc as a Strategic Sourcing Manager, focusing on key commodities such as batteries, electronics, plastics, and energy systems. Currently, they hold the position of VP of Purchasing and Logistics at Trinity Services Group.
Fred Botero attended the United States Naval Academy from 1976 to 1980, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. After that, they enrolled at the US Navy Nuclear Power School in 1980 and completed their studies in 1981, earning a Master's degree in Engineering with a specialization in Nuclear Engineering. Later, from 1986 to 1988, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Troy University Dothan, focusing on the field of Business.
