Reegun Richard Jayapaul

Reegun Richard Jayapaul has a diverse work experience in the field of threat hunting, incident response, and malware analysis. Reegun currently holds the position of Principal Threat Hunter at Trustwave, where they have been working since 2020. Prior to this, Reegun worked as a Senior Threat Architect and SpiderLabs Lead Threat Architect at Trustwave, from 2020 to 2023.

Before joining Trustwave, Reegun was an AVP at OCBC Bank, where they focused on cyber defense incident response and forensics. Reegun worked at OCBC Bank from 2019 to 2020.

Reegun also gained valuable experience at Symantec, where they served as a Senior Security Analyst from 2015 to 2019 and as a Security Analyst from 2014 to 2015.

Reegun'scareer in the cybersecurity field started at Norman Shark, where they worked as a Malware Analyst from 2012 to 2014. At Norman Shark, they specialized in dynamic and static malware analysis, as well as tracking exploit kits and reversing new malware. Reegun also shared their expertise through blogging about emerging trends in malware.

Reegun's earliest work experience was as a System Security Specialist at iOPEX technologies from 2011 to 2012.

Reegun Richard Jayapaul obtained a Bachelor of Technology - BTech degree in Information Technology from IFET college of Engineering, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed their HSLC from St Gabriels Higher Secondary School in Broadway, Chennai, from 2004 to 2006. Reegun also has additional certifications in various cybersecurity domains, including OSEP, GREM, OSCP, GCIA, ECSA, and CEH.
