Chelsea K. has a wealth of experience in the scientific field. Chelsea began their career in 2009 as a Staff Research Associate I and California Institute for Regenerative Medicine Bridges Intern at the University of California, San Diego. In 2011, they moved to the University of Washington as a Graduate Research Assistant, where they utilized gene editing and zebrafish transgenesis tools coupled with live cell confocal microscopy to investigate neuronal specification within the cerebellum. In 2017, Chelsea K. held two postdoctoral research associate positions; one at the University of Zurich, where they generated and employed optogenetic-based tools for sub-cellular manipulation of the actin cytoskeleton within individual multipotent cells in the zebrafish, and one at Fred Hutch. In 2018, they moved to the University of Utah as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, using confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, and molecular biology techniques to investigate unconventional modes of cellular communication within the tumor microenvironment. Currently, Chelsea K. is a Senior Scientist at Tune Therapeutics.
Chelsea K. attended San Diego State University from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology, General. Chelsea then went on to the University of Washington, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Biology in 2016.
