Bart Weiss

Bart Weiss has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of law, particularly in the music industry. Bart began their career as the Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs at EMI Music Publishing, where they negotiated and drafted music publishing agreements and supervised major catalog acquisitions. Bart then joined Bienstock & Michael as Of Counsel, representing various clients, including recording artists and corporate entities, in contractual matters related to music publishing, IP, and copyright.

Bart later worked at Sony Music Entertainment as a Legal/Business Affairs Consultant, where they negotiated licenses and agreements for renowned artists and provided day-to-day advice on complex business and legal issues. Bart then served as the Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs at Razor & Tie Entertainment/Kidz Bop, LLC, overseeing complex domestic and foreign contracts, intellectual property rights, and content/brand exploitation.

At EMI Music North America, Bart headed a royalty audit team and directed litigation involving audit claims and breach of contract. Bart also worked as the Lead Music Counsel at Mattel, Inc., where they were responsible for the legal and business affairs of the company's music division, collaborating with executives on media/marketing/licensing plans and content acquisition.

Bart's experience further includes roles as a Legal Consultant at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP and as Of Counsel at Boyarski Fritz LLP. Currently, they are the owner of WeissEntLaw, their own law firm. Additionally, they hold the position of Legal Counsel at Ultra Music Publishing, where they serve as the lead transactional outside counsel for music publishing deals in the United States.
