Rémi Lang has a strong background in economics, with extensive work experience in various international organizations. Rémi began their career as an Economist at UNECA in 2004 and then moved to UNCTAD in 2007, where they worked as an Economist until 2012. In 2012, they joined UNESCAP as an Economic Affairs Officer. Rémi returned to UNCTAD in 2015, initially as an Economic Affairs Officer at the Trade Logistics Branch and then as an Economist at the Office of the Director - Division on Technology and Logistics, where they acted as Chief and advised the Director on policy issues related to e-commerce, innovation, and trade facilitation. Rémi'sresponsibilities included coordinating relations with government representatives and building international consensus. Rémi's areas of expertise include economic and policy issues on international trade, maritime transport, climate change, energy, and ICT. Rémi has also contributed to projects focused on enhancing the adaptive capacities of SIDS in the Caribbean.
Rémi Lang completed their Master Degree in International Economics and European Integration at the College of Europe from 1996 to 1997. Prior to that, they pursued a Maitrise degree in International Economics and European Integration at Université Lumière Lyon 2 from 1992 to 1997. Rémi'sfield of study in both institutions focused on International Economics and European Affairs.
