Phong Yeow Yong

Phong Yeow Yong has a diverse and extensive work experience. Starting in 2000, they served as a Senior Project Executive at Davis Langdon & Seah Malaysia, managing a team of quantity surveyors for a large-scale construction project. Phong Yeow then worked as a Contracts Manager at Boh Huat Chan Construction and GYC Construction, responsible for contract administration, negotiation, and change management. Yong later joined Hegarty Demolition Limited as a Quantity Surveyor/Claims Specialist, where they improved project profitability and handled pre/post contract administration. Subsequently, they joined EC Harris Built Asset Consultancy as a Claims Consultant, overseeing a city center redevelopment project and managing a team of QS's. Yong then joined ASTAD PROJECT MANAGEMENT as a Contracts Manager, where they handled contract management for the Sidra Medical and Research Centre project. Currently, they are working as the Head of Contracts at United Development Company (UDC).

Phong Yeow Yong has pursued various levels of education and obtained important certifications throughout their career. Phong Yeow began by earning a Bachelor of Quantity Surveying (Hons) degree from the University of Malaya between 1997 and 2000. Following this, they pursued a PG Diploma in Arbitration at the University College Dublin from 2007 to 2008. Later, they attended the Robert Gordon University from 2008 to 2010 to obtain an LLM in Construction Law and Arbitration. In 2014 and 2015, Phong completed the Legal Experience Training for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, earning an Advance Professional Award in Expert Witness Evidence (Level 7 BTEC).

Additionally, Phong Yeow Yong has obtained several notable certifications. In October 2008, they became a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). Furthermore, in March 2019, they received the Registered Engineer certification in Quantity Calculation and Cost Estimation from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment in Qatar.
