Vance Newgard

Vance Newgard is an experienced Olympic weightlifting coach and educator, currently serving as the Head Olympic Weightlifting Coach at Brewton-Parker College, where Vance founded the Varsity Olympic Weightlifting Team, a unique program offering scholarships for weightlifters. Vance also works as a Contract Education Instructor for USA Weightlifting, conducting certification courses across the Great Lakes Region. Additionally, Vance coaches athletes at the United States Olympic Training Site at Northern Michigan University, tailoring training plans for various competition levels. Prior to these roles, Vance was an Assistant Track and Field Coach at Northern Michigan University. Academically, Vance holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Concordia University Chicago and a Master's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Northern Michigan University.
