CAPT Indira Harris is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in behavioral health and education. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at Tulane University School of Social Work and Social Work at Simmons, CAPT Indira Harris teaches graduate courses on Psychopathology, Behavioral Pharmacology, and Assessment and Diagnosis. In a leadership role as Chief of the Behavioral Health Unit under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, CAPT Indira Harris manages unit activities and collaborates with senior officials to align with strategic agency goals. With a strong background in public health, CAPT Indira Harris previously worked as a Public Health Analyst at the Health Resources and Services Administration and as a Public Health Advisor for SAMHSA. Additionally, CAPT Indira Harris co-founded the Resilience Through Meditation program for the U.S. Public Health Service, promoting mindfulness practices across the organization. CAPT Indira Harris holds a Doctor's Degree in Health Services, along with Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Clinical Social Work and Psychology, respectively.
