Prudencio Tossou

Co-Founder & Research Lead at Valence Discovery

Prudencio Tossou has a diverse background in research and teaching in the field of computer science and machine learning. Prudencio co-founded Valence Discovery in 2018, where they serve as the Research Lead. Prior to that, they worked as a PhD student in Machine Learning at Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute starting in 2016. From 2014 to 2018, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Lecturer at Université Laval's Department of Computer Science. In 2014, they also had a role as a Research Intern at Université Laval's Big Data Research Center. In previous years, they gained research experience as a Research Intern at INAF - Université Laval in 2013 and as a Research Intern at IUCPQ - Université Laval in 2012, where they focused on a GWAS study on lung cancer. Prudencio's work experience reflects their expertise in machine learning, data analysis, and research in computer science.

Prudencio Tossou completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Bioinformatics at Université Laval from 2011 to 2014. From 2014 to 2015, they pursued a Master's degree in Machine Learning at the same institution. Prudencio then continued their education at Université Laval, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Machine Learning from 2016 to 2020.
