Leyla S. Smieja

Leyla S. Smieja currently serves as Corporate Counsel at Veritone since March 2022, having previously worked as an Attorney Consultant at Veritone One from September 2021 to September 2022. Leyla's legal experience includes a role as a Legal Consultant for Epson America Inc., where support was provided to the legal department regarding commercial and corporate affairs in Latin American jurisdictions from January 2016 to January 2020. Additionally, Leyla co-founded Nosara Paddlesurf, establishing the legal framework for an international premium hospitality sports travel and coaching brand from January 2012 to December 2019. Earlier experience includes a position as Associate Corporate Counsel in the International Legal Department at Best Buy from January 2008 to December 2011 and a Law Clerk role at Centro Legal de la Raza in 2007. Leyla earned a JD in Law from Mitchell Hamline School of Law between 2005 and 2007.
