Loeke de Waal

Loeke de Waal is a versatile freelance journalist and cultural correspondent with extensive experience in various media roles since 2011. Currently serving as a Freelance Culture Correspondent at NRC, and as a Film & Series Correspondent for NPO 3, Loeke focuses on trends, reviews, and interviews in the film industry. Additionally, Loeke co-hosts the podcast "Achter Haar," which discusses solidarity among women in media, and "Threesome of Speech," which revisits iconic speeches. Other notable contributions include being a board member for Vrouw & Media, a foundation promoting women in journalism, and reporting as an international correspondent for Vereniging VERS. Loeke has also worked as a video journalist for numerous networks, a researcher for HBO productions, and directed several non-scripted TV shows. Educational background includes degrees from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, City, University of London, Hunter College, and the New York Film Academy.
