James Simmonite has extensive work experience in various leadership roles within the manufacturing industry. James started their career at ICI as a Technical Plant Manager and worked there from 1990 to 1997. James then joined Victrex and held several positions including Site Operations Manager, Enterprise Product Manager, and Global Business Leader for Pipes. In 2015, they became the Enterprise Industrialisation Leader, responsible for developing new manufacturing capabilities. From 2016 to 2021, they served as the Director of Energy Business and Industrialisation, responsible for driving sustainable growth. Currently, they are the Director of Global Manufacturing at Victrex, overseeing manufacturing operations across multiple sites. James is also leading a strategic growth program with a start-up company, Magma, to develop and adopt thermoplastic pipes in the energy sector. Additionally, they are accountable for the Medical Manufacturing and Industrialisation at Victrex, focusing on strategic growth programs for composite trauma plates and thermoplastic knees, as well as thermoplastic composite pipes for Petrobras.
James Simmonite obtained their MEng degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham from 1986 to 1990. James then pursued an MBA in Business Administration at Alliance Manchester Business School from 2001 to 2003.
