Minh Hoai Nguyen has a diverse work experience in various research and technology roles. Minh Hoai started their career as a Software Engineering Intern at Canon Information System Research Australia in 2004. In 2006, they worked as a Software Engineer at FPT Information System. Moving on, Minh was a Research Intern at Microsoft Research Cambridge in 2008 and then worked as a Research Intern at Google in 2010. In 2013, they became a Nicholas Kurti Junior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford - Brasenose College. In 2014, they joined Stony Brook University as an Assistant Professor, and later, they were promoted to the position of Associate Professor in 2020. Additionally, Minh has been serving as the Principal Research Scientist & Head of Smart Edge at VinAI since 2019.
Minh Hoai Nguyen completed a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Dai hoc Quoc Gia Hanoi in 2001. Minh Hoai then pursued a Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering from UNSW between 2002 and 2005. Minh Hoai Nguyen later attended Carnegie Mellon University, where they obtained a PhD in Robotics from 2006 to 2011. Following this, they continued their education with a postdoctoral research position at the University of Oxford in the field of Computer Vision from 2012 to 2014.
