Phil Newell

Phil Newell has extensive experience in political and legislative roles, currently serving as Chief of Staff for the Virginia House of Delegates since January 2010 and for Delegate Luke E. Torian since June 2018. Phil's responsibilities involve directing legislative affairs and communications for House Democratic Leader Don Scott. Phil has held various leadership positions, including serving as Campaign Manager and Field Director for Luke Torian for Delegate, and as Regional Field Director for the Tim Kaine for US Senate campaign. Phil began their career with roles such as Congressional Intern for the House Veterans Affairs Committee and Volunteer Coordinator for Obama for America. Phil holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and East Asian Studies from Guilford College.
