Kara Franker

Kara Franker, JD, CDME, serves as the President & CEO of The Florida Keys & Key West since September 2024, with previous experience as the Chief Executive Officer of Visit Estes Park. Franker has held multiple Editor-in-Chief positions at Modern Luxury publications, overseeing various luxury lifestyle magazines. Notable previous roles include Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Visit Lauderdale, where strategic destination marketing and communications initiatives were led. Franker also operated as a Strategic Marketing Consultant & Attorney at Kara Franker, Inc. and served as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County. Early career experiences include law clerk positions focused on special prosecutions and human trafficking, alongside authorship of research on human trafficking through Shared Hope International. Franker holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from The University of Kansas.
