Romain Bretécher has extensive work experience in various positions and roles. Romain currently works as a Senior Backend Engineer at Voodoo, starting in 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Figaro Classifieds from 2020 to 2022, where they held the positions of Tech Lead and Software Engineer. In their role as Tech Lead, they were involved in migrating a legacy real estate alert system into a new app using Go microservices. Romain was responsible for deployment and infrastructure management, utilizing technologies such as Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, and Terraform. Romain also worked with technologies like Go, Microservices, PostgreSQL, Elastic Search, GCP, and Jenkins.

Before joining Figaro Classifieds, Romain worked at LaFourchette from 2016 to 2020 as a Software Engineer. Romain was part of the Restaurant Onboarding Experience team and contributed to projects aimed at improving the restaurant registration process and splitting a PHP monolith into multiple NodeJS microservices.

Earlier in their career, Romain worked at Beemoov from 2009 to 2016. As a Tech Lead, they mainly focused on mobile development. Romain participated in the development of a platformer game called Power Princess using Cocos2d-x and C++, as well as a letter game called Kemo using C# and Unity. Additionally, they worked on projects such as a mobile game called My Candy Love using Objective-C and an innovative digital reader app for comics using Java. At Beemoov, they also worked on different projects involving managing advertising campaigns and micropayments administration tools.

Romain Bretécher completed their Master 2 (M2) degree in Informatique from SUPINFO between 2008 and 2014. In addition, they obtained the certification of CKAD: Certified Kubernetes Application Developer from The Linux Foundation in December 2021.
