Principal Research Associate, Team Lead at Voyager Therapeutics

Timothy Fiore's work experience begins with their current position as a Sr Research Associate II, Team Lead at Voyager Therapeutics, Inc. which they started in November 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Research Associate at a biotech startup in stealth mode from August 2018 to October 2019. In this role, they optimized qPCR assays and created new internal processes for testing and data analysis.

Prior to that, Fiore gained experience at Massachusetts General Hospital as a Molecular Diagnostic Technician from April 2013 to October 2016. Timothy worked in the Laboratory for Molecular Medicine, where they performed various laboratory techniques involved in Next Generation Sequencing.

Earlier in their career, Fiore worked as a Research Study Assistant at Boston Children's Hospital from October 2012 to January 2013. Timothy assisted in recruiting and consenting participants for a research study.

Timothy also has experience as an Independent Study at Virginia Commonwealth University from June 2010 to May 2012, where they conducted research on the multisensory properties of the Ferret brain. Additionally, they were awarded a Student Fellowship from the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program in 2011.

Fiore began their professional career as a Specimen Management Technician at the University of Virginia from September 2008 to August 2009, where they performed data entry and labeling of specimens for testing.

Outside of the scientific field, Fiore has experience as a Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician at Seminole Trail Volunteer Fire Department from April 2005 to March 2009. Timothy responded to fire and medical emergencies, provided patient care, and performed rescue operations.

Also, they worked as a Salesman/Electronic Specialist at Target from August 2005 to October 2006, where they assisted customers and answered questions about electronic devices.

Timothy Fiore's education history began in 2004 when they earned a Certificate of Firefighting I and Emergency Medical Technician- Basic from Charlottesville Albemarle Technical Education Center. Timothy then pursued an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Liberal Arts from Piedmont Virginia Community College from 2006 to 2009. Following this, Timothy enrolled at Virginia Commonwealth University, where they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology from 2009 to 2012.
